This course provides all civil society and the workers in the field of human rights full explanation of UNEP as well as international environmental conventions.We will also address the origins of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and its affiliated bodies, and the relationship of women, refugees, displaced persons and all groups that are marginalized to societal stability and cohesion in societies and by the end you will have e nough knowledge of everything you need to know as a citizen and civil society activist

 

What will you learn
  • Understand the meaning of democracy and the norms of democratic governance and the relationship between democracy and human rights
  • The democracy in the Libyan context
  • The relationship between democracy and women’s issues
  • overview of human rights and the characteristics of human rights and features of the Universal Declaration, with some facts about history of human rights
  • The international Bill of Human Rights and the means of implementing international human rights obligations with the most important international human rights bodies that are responsible of implementing Human rights all over the world
  • UNEP programs related to human rights and the sources of international law on the environment and international environmental bodies
  • The role of civil society institutions in the promotion and protection of human rights in their countries
  • The role of civil society institutions in protecting the environment and raising awareness of the importance of preserving it
Requirements
  • The trainee should believe in democracy and human rights
  • The trainee must have desire and intention to participate in the promotion of democracy and human rights in your country
  • The trainee should be willing to participate in the protection and dissemination of a culture of human rights and marginalized groups in their country
  • The trainee who are interested in maintaining the environment
