This course is designed specifically for civil society organizations in Libya, where knowledge is required in one of the most important issues such as Democracy and gender equality, and this course provides a clear understanding of democracy, its meaning, and the most important democratic governance types in the world, also it defines the meaning of gender and the difference between gender and sex, and The principles of equality and non-discrimination, which are the fundamental pillars of human rights, it will also identify the types of discrimination and the types of equality and the ways in which they can be established as an entry point for social cohesion. The  course will also address the issue of conflict sensitivity and marginalization and help the NGOs’ workers to start their work on a solid basis of knowledge

 

What will you learn
  • The meaning of the equality and non-discrimination and the most important international conventions related to the topic
  • Types of discrimination ( intended discrimination – accidental discrimination) and obligations of States to their citizens
  • you will be able to know The difference between Gender and Sex
  • Types of Gender Equality
  • The concept of marginalization, and those most marginalized categories
  • The meaning and importance of conflict sensitivity
Requirements
  • The trainee should be interested in understanding the meaning of gender equality and how to achieve it on the ground
  • The trainee must have the desire to gain a clear idea of ways to combat gender-based discrimination
  • The trainee must believe in the values of justice, equality, and non-discrimination
  • The trainee must have the intention to support and support marginalized groups and increase social cohesion
